1. Tighten the release valve by turning clockwise.
2. Loosen the vented oil bolt.
3. Grease die cover, swagging blocks and the pipe to be bent.
4. Lift the upper plate and affix the bending die to the end of the cylinder ram.
5. Turn the swagging blocks so their grooves face toward the pipe die.
6. To account for the pipe shortening during the bending process, make sure the pipe extends beyond the swagging blocks.
7. Set the swagging blocks closer together for short pipes, to ensure that the pipe extends beyond the swagging blocks.
8. Return the upper plate to original position and use the advance the die. Note: only one handle is included with the bending machine.
9. Use the forming pump to apply heavy pressure to bend the pipe to its desired angle.
10. When finished bending, release the pressure by opening the release valve. The ram will automatically retreat. Lift the upper plate to take

out the bent pipe.
11. Note: by using a combination of dies and swagging block settings you can achieve the desired angle. eg. for a clean right angled finish start

off by using the swagging blocks at the end of the pipe bender and work your way in.

To improve the efficiency of bending work, we had designed 1/2″-2″ electric pipe bender as below picture.

Purging the air from ram
To purge the tank you may simply open the venting bolt during operation, this will aspirate air from the ram and not effect normal operation.

If you find the response to pumping is slow or the ram will not fully extend then perform the following precedure.
1. Loosen the vented oil bolt.
2. Raise the cylinder head to make the pipe bending machine tilt at a 45 degree position.
3. Pump the handle until there is no air in the cylinder.
4. Once the air is removed, tighten the oil bolt and loosen the release valve counterclockwise. The cylinder ram will return to its original position.
5. Lower the cylinder head back to a horizontal position.

Topping up ram oil
Check the hydraulic oil in the cylinder by removing the vented oil bolt and visually ensure that the piston inside is covered in oil when the pipe

bender is in the horizontal position. You will also require oil if the ram will not fully extend to 250mm.
1. Remove the vented bolt.
2. Pour in oil.
3. Screw bolt back in.

Maintenance
Maintain the tool with care. A tool in good condition is efficient, easier to control and will have fewer problems.
Inspect the tool components periodically. Repair or replace damaged or worn components.
Lubricate tool when required.
Follow instruction for lubricating and changing accessories.
Keep the tool handles clean, dry and free from oil and grease at all times.
When servicing, use only indentical replacement parts. Only use accessories intended for use with this tool.
Replace damaged parts immediately.
The oil level should be kept constant at about 1.2lt if quality hydraulic oil. Too much oil will force the surplus oil to leak from the cylinder seals

and possible damage them. Not enough oil will cause loss of power as air will be sucked in, causing a drop in pressure.
Periodically clean and maintain the machine. Use clean, filtered oil, making sure the filter is cleaned regularly.
